Frequently Asked Questions
-
The PLAY Project (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters) is a parent-implemented early intervention program based on DIR/Floortime principles. It prioritizes connection, relationship, and joy as the foundation of growth.
In simple terms:
It teaches you how to connect with your child in a way that builds communication and development naturally through play and daily interaction.
Instead of focusing only on therapy sessions, we focus on what happens at home—the moments you already have with your child every day.
You are not being taught to “do therapy.”
You are being supported in becoming the most important part of your child’s development.
-
Traditional therapy often happens in short sessions where parents observe from the outside.
PLAY Project is built around a different idea:
Your child makes the most progress when the strategies are happening with you, in real life, not just during therapy sessions.
That means you are not waiting for updates from therapy.
You are part of what creates progress.
-
The PLAY Project is backed by peer-reviewed research including a 2007 pilot study and a 2014 NIH-funded randomized controlled trial demonstrating significant improvements in autism severity, parent engagement, and child development outcomes.
It is recognized as an evidence-based early intervention model that focuses on parent coaching and natural development through relationships.
As the only certified PLAY Project provider in Texas, I bring this model directly into your home or via telehealth so it can be applied in your real daily routines.

Who is the PLAY Project for?
The PLAY Project is designed for families of young children ages 18 months to 6 years who are showing signs of communication, social, or developmental differences.
A formal diagnosis is not required.
It may be a good fit if:
Your child has recently received an autism diagnosis and you want to start with a relationship-based approach from the beginning.
You suspect delays but don’t want to “wait and see”.
You feel like therapy isn’t carrying over into real life.
You want to feel confident supporting your child during daily routines.
You want to be actively involved in your child’s progress.
How it Works
We talk about your child, where you are right now, and whether the PLAY Project is the right fit for your family.
Book a free discovery call.
Based on your child's sensory preferences, developmental level and your family's life, we create a personalized roadmap.

You become your child’s greatest resource.
With every visit, every video review, and every check-in, you grow more confident and more connected.
You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone
Development is connected across communication, play, regulation, and daily routines. When one area is stuck, it often affects everything else.
Other ways I can help
Things can feel more connected and you can feel less overwhelmed when you have the right support in place.
